We’re absolutely over the moon to have won Best Cellar Door (Small) at the WineGB Awards this summer.
It’s a huge testament to the exceptional team of passionate, creative people who we’re lucky enough to have working with us; plus the community we’ve built with our wonderful visitors; who travel to us from near and far; by foot, train, car, and occasionally hoof.
Westwell isn’t a fancy cellar door, but that’s how we like it. We’re an informal working vineyard and winery and we want visiting us to feel like stepping into our world. The cellar door looks directly onto the winery, with tanks, barrels and amphora alongside artwork and label designs all created here - a bit more like studio or workshop than a conventional tasting room.
Our priority is to make wine feel fun and accessible. Over the years Westwell has become much more than a tasting room and we’re incredibly proud to have this slightly unconventional approach recognised by WineGB amongst some very, very stiff competition.
